SAFETY & SECURITY

Safety and well-being of the dog and of the groomer is always #1. Clients can bring in their fur babies with the peace of mind that they will receive one-on-one compassionate care (and lots of hugs!) from an AZ state certified professional, and that only high-quality tools, products, and equipment will be used.

VACCINATIONS

Per Arizona state law, verification of up-to-date rabies vaccinations must be provided prior to booking your appointment.

Legislature of the State of Arizona:

11-1010.  Anti-rabies vaccination; violation; classification

  1. ALL DOGS THREE MONTHS OF AGE OR OLDER SHALL BE VACCINATED AGAINST RABIES BY A VETERINARIAN WHO IS LICENSED TO PRACTICE IN A JURISDICTION OF THE UNITED STATES.

LATE/CANCELLATION FEES

Arriving on time to drop off or pick up your pet is very important! I am a one-on-one groomer and do not have the time between appointments or the proper facility for pet sitting/boarding.

***** Arriving for drop-off more than 15 minutes late may result in needing to reschedule as I may no longer have time to complete your dog’s groom before the next client arrives.

***** Arriving for pick-up more than 15 minutes past your assigned pick-up time will result in a $5 late fee, and another $5 for every additional 5 minutes you are late. (example: 25 minutes late = $15 late fee)

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Please call as soon as you are able if you cannot make it to your appointment.

No call no show is extremely frowned upon. I try to be understanding that fluff happens. However as the sole groomer of a privately owned salon I will ask that you find another groomer after more than one instance of a no call/no show.

MATTING

Dogs with severely matted coats require extra attention.

Fabulous Fur Babies will not cause serious or undue stress to pets by de-matting. If a dog is severely tangled and/or matted, it poses a greater risk of injury, stress, and trauma.

Heavy matting can trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin, allowing mold, fungus, and bacteria to grow and/or reveal skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process.

While all precautions are taken, removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts, or abrasions. Aftereffects of mat removal can include itchiness, redness, self-inflicted irritations, or abrasions and – in extreme cases - failure of hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes.

FLEAS AND TICKS

All pets should be flea and tick free.

If a pet comes in with fleas and/or ticks, the entire salon must be completely washed down and sanitized before another dog can enter.

If your pet comes in for their appointment with signs of fleas and/or ticks, there will be an additional fee of $50.

If your pet comes in for their appointment covered in fleas and/or ticks, they will not be permitted to check-in and a $50 fee will be charged to your account.

Please consult your veterinarian for recommendations on monthly flea and tick prevention prior to your visit here.

SHAVING DOGS

Double-coated dogs should not be shaved!

Shaving a double-coated dog in the summer will NOT make it feel cooler.

A dog's double coat is their protection from the elements, both hot and cold. It protects their skin and helps it to regulate and maintain a consistent body temperature. Dogs that have had their coats artificially removed are prone to several health issues, especially if they are outdoor dogs. When freshly shaved, they become prone to sunburn, insect bites and minor injuries caused by running through underbrush or woods.

If you have a double-coated dog, shaving is not an option at FFB unless there is severe matting, and it is a last resort option for the well-being of the dog.

Some coats can be taken a bit shorter with hand-scissoring or a clip comb instead of a short clipper blade. Also, bringing them in for a bath & brush with complete de-shed every 4-6 weeks can reduce shedding up to 90%.

MULTIPLE DOGS

As I do not order tools and products in bulk like a large-scale business facility, I am not able to offer multi-pet discounts.

PRICE INCREASES

Inflation affects everyone! Groomers are no exception...the cost of all tools and products we use increase regularly. FFB prices will reflect this by increasing slightly on an annual basis.

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

FFB is an equality advocate and does not discriminate! However we do reserve the right to refuse service for non-discriminatory reasons.

Arizona Revised Statutes Title 41. State Government § 41-1442
